How to configure the general tab of the AI agent
The general tab sets the model, credentials, and behavior parameters for the agent. The OpenAI token is required. Pinecone is only needed if you plan to.
- Under Modules > Automation > Agents, click the pencil icon for the agent.
- The first tab shown is General. Configure each field:
- Image: photo or icon for the agent. 2 MB limit. - Status: shown as "Untrained" until the first training. - Name: can be changed here at any time. - API token (OpenAI): key generated at platform.openai.com > API Keys. Without this token the agent will not work. - Model: choose between ChatGPT 4.0, 4.0 Mini, O1, O1 Mini, or O3 Mini. The info icon shows cost per model. Billing is per input and output token. - Pinecone token: required only for training with long-term memory. Leave blank if you are not training. - Result limit per query (Pinecone): more results give more complete responses but take longer. - Allowed organizations: leave blank to allow all companies or select specific ones. - Fetch business hours: the agent answers questions about the hours configured in Admin > Settings. - Temperature: controls response variation. Recommended between 0.7 and 0.9 to balance creativity and precision.
- Click Save.
